Upland Brewing Co. - Oak & White Barrel-Aged Fruited Sour Ale (500ml)

As fate would have it, Upland luckily shares locality in Southern Indiana with the Oliver Winery, which has been providing the state of Indiana with excellent award-winning wines for decades. In 2006, an amicable agreement was met, and Upland parted with four white oak barrels, and Oliver happily accepted 8 cases of beer as payment. Flash forward 7 years later, over 200 barrels additionally amassed by Upland, and a dedicated focus on growing a small Sour Ale Program. Seeking the finest local ingredients when possible, and passion for fruited lambic-style brewing, led Upland back to Oliver. This time, specifically in regards to their vineyard and Indiana-grown grapes. The dedicated winemakers at Oliver alongside the Upland crew and tasted numerous wine and sour ale samples, determining blends of sour ale that would work best with certain grape varietals.
