This wine smells brash. It starts with vanilla custard then moves into blackberry pie filling, while a mineral tone emerges with time in the glass. Voluptuous and concentrated on the palate, this sensuous wine has a well-balanced structure of fine, sculpted tannins and scintillatingly bright acidity. The long finish turns a touch dry with oak-driven tannins. This needs time to reveal its many layers, but it’s pleasant to drink now with rich red meat dishes. Drink now–2025. 2016 Vintage.
